X5 E53 with MS43 not starting

Postby ericm1 » Sun Dec 16, 2018 4:48 pm

Hi everybody,

I'am stuck here with a BMW X5 E53 with a water damaged DME/ECU.
The car did start in the first place but not running good caused by several errors from the damaged ecu.

So I managed to get the complete flash off the 29F400 and the 93C86, flashed them in another used ECU from the same type (5WK00012),
and resync in ISTA-P.
After that the DME and the EWS lit up green in ISTA, so everything looked alright.
Then car did crank but not start, and after that the EWS is stil green in ISTA but the DME not, in fault memory there is now "EWS tampering and DME not match".
Try the whole thing over again but the same happened.

Then I decided to try the old damaged computer but same thing...

SO my question is, what am I doing wrong?

The flash from the 29F400 ori DME, the EWS, and the 93C86 from the DME is included in this post.

Hope that somebody can help me out, or else remove the IMMO to get this car running again. :(

Did you read the 93C86 as 8bit or 16bit ?

Wich read? the 29F400?
I désoldered the chip and read with a Elnec programmer, so I did with the 93c86.

The EWS was read with a AK90

Thanks for the reaction.

If still needen write a PN, I will virgin your flash so you can syne again.
Or write ISN from EWS into flash and you should run fine.
Immo also can be cancel but there is no need for.
