Remap then egr+dpf off

Postby Jonthe » Thu Mar 15, 2018 9:42 pm

Hi

Stupid question maybe but I am a beginner.
If I upload my original file to a tuner site and recieve a stage 1 remapped file, can I after that open that file in WinOls or EcuSafe etc and remove egr+dpf myself? Will that work or does the tuner need to know that I want to remove egr+dpf when he makes the file to make a correct file? Or will this cause problems with the car afterwards?

Regards
/ J

Awesome! Will save me some money.

Another question! If I read the file with Kess, do I have to write it back if I just want to read it? Or can I just unplug it after reading?

If you just want to read it, no need for writing ;)

Thank you very much! Thought that you had to "write it back" so it would function correct :D

A tip: some cars cant be read with kess on odb2 (for example edc17) also on some french cars you can lose injector coding by reading so keep that in mind. Also programs like ecusafe dont always work, best is to manually remove egr/dpf in hex editor like winols
