reading ecu file

Hi Guys,

This is my first reading an ecu file i have an clone kess v2 and have read the ecu (1.9 tdi BKC) but there is no file type. When i right click on it just says file.

There is no file type ...
Just read and safe as .bin, .ori, .mod, .hex or what you want. Its only format.... nothing to do with data.
Also dont recommend to read and write with clone tools you can easy damage ecus with them .

Thanks for the reply make sense, just didn't know if I read the file right or if it is corrupted. I only want to map two of my cars so don't want to spend 2000 just on tools.

That worries me! I've bought similar hardware.. My old Opel(Vauxhall) Astra G-CC would've made a great guinea pig.
Could you elaborate as to why the ECU may get corrupted? Does it potentially affect all cars? Or only newer models?

Em ... fake tools? If they were good as original you shoudnt pay tousends more for orginals :lol: :lol: :lol:
