Captiva 2.0D 150HP EGR off - verification

Postby barthek » Wed Sep 25, 2019 10:54 pm

hello there!

Can someone please check if the EGR OFF is correct for this ECU.
Is this a simple switch or are maps also modified?

How can I verify the checksum?

thanks in advance!

thanks 2xded!

do you think this is sufficient for this ECU?
would a professional tuner do any better EGR off modification?
How did you find out what software modified the binfile? I 'string'ed the bin and didn't find any references :)

Hi!
I do not use MPPS, so I can not recommend it. It will be safe to do KTAG, IMHO.
See the pictures in the attachment, this will be useful for analyzing firmware changes.

so I found two maps - at 1C2FE2 & 1C3226 where they got 'flattened' to change the EGR valve operation. that correct?

if so, there are no DTC off - since the ECU should always be ok with the EGR valve / MAF changes - because of the modified map?

OK so I've flashed the ECU with this 'egr off' file - and I noticed no difference in operation of the EGR valve.
the duty cycle and command are changing as before - is that expected?

also, I read the newfly flashed ECU and the file I got is different from what I written. Is that normal?

Thank you!
What do you think are the maps that the egr remover flattened at above addresses?
