Flash contains maps that are parameters for engine working for example fuel dosage, rail presure, turbo pressure...etc while eeprom contains vehicle specific.data like VIN,immobiliser...etc

Hi, i have 1.6hdi Citroen C4 with ecu from Peugeot 3008 . These ecus have same sw and hw number. I read eeprom and wrote in new one.

But when I want to connect my car via lexia as Citroen, all is OK expect that the ecu is read in the list as "unknown unit". But when i connect car as peugeot then ecu is known. So My question is: "where is this information stored?" Is it really in flash memory?

In general EEPROM is byte erasable. Each address bit can be erased and reprogrammed and smaller than Flash .
