Hi all, looking for a little help with my Kia.
I am suffering with recurring p0401 errors (egr flow insufficient), I used a galletto cable to read the ecu and attempted to search the bin file for the hysteresis maps in winols however at this point concluded that I really didn't know what I was doing so instead sent the file to an online site and paid for a stage 1 tune + egr delete.
Unfortunately the egr delete did not appear to work for me - if I unplug the egr as stated by the tuner the car then provides no boost and if I leave the egr connected the car still hits limp mode however the p0401 error is just not logged. I was thinking that perhaps the p0401 error code was deleted but the egr was not actually disabled.

I have attached the standard / stock map from the car would anybody be able to take a look and advise on how to go about disabling the egr please so that it no longer attempts to open it or throw a p0401 error?

Just a brief update (although sadly I'm still no better off)…

I followed the excellent 'Working solution for EGR off EDC16' guide from this site however am still unable to locate the egr maps for my ecu.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I'm getting desperate to get rid of my constant p0401 errors and limp mode without spending 400 quid for an egr valve replacement (especially on a car with only 27,000 miles on the clock).

Wow, Many Thanks!!!

Comparing that file to my original gives me some hope that I was at least looking in the right place for the maps.

I shall give this a try later on.

Once again many thanks for the assistance!

Well I have loaded the map successfully. I won't be able to give it a proper run up and down the motorway until Monday to see if the p0401 is cured but it looks promising so far. Initial tests show that egr commanded seems to stay at 4.7%.

Many Thanks jurebv.

Almost a week in after the ecu flash and not a single problem to report.

Thanks again jurebv, really appreciated!
