original files question

Postby richw01 » Fri Apr 27, 2018 9:59 pm

Ok might be a silly question but are the files on ecubin.com virgin files. need to make a virgin ecu for someone who has spiked the original.
Thanks Rich

Thanks for the replay, so writing an original file to an ecu is enough to virgin a ecu to transplant to a different car?
(will clear all codes).
First time I have done this and was under the impression that a original file is just for the running of the engine and not the immobilizers.
am i right in thinking that the mapp and the immobilizer code are stored in different places (thought immobilizer was on an eeprom mapp another chip)

I know this might be obvious to all of you but i am very new to this and a good fried of mine has just damage an ecu at his garage and I am trying to help him out
Thanks Again

if the old ecu is still readable, just write eeprom from old ecu to new ecu

how are you trying to do this? it cannot be done over OBD2.

Other way is to remove immo from new ecu
