Useful Binary Compare Tool (Free!)

Postby rlees85 » Thu Jun 14, 2012 9:43 pm

I was trying to find a tool for comparing two binary files and showing the output in a user-friendly (hex) format. Finding a free one was a right mission but I finally found this. I am sure there are much better tools out there but probably not for free :/

Only works in Windows and is a command line tool (works fine in Windows 7 64-bit so should work on any version of windows)

I found it very useful for finding out exactly what ECUSafe did to remove the FAP code.

As far as I know its free, so posting it here shouldn't cause an issue.

edit: Turns out I can't upload an EXE file. Software is available here: http://www.cjmweb.net/vbindiff/ and is called 'VBinDiff'

WinOLS do it very elegant. You can also use scripts for editing...look at the picture, you will know what I am talking about. ;)
You do not have permissions to view the files yet. You have to be registered and you have to make at least 3 quality / unique posts.

HxD  FREE.
Winols wont let you read all files.
This hex editor will compare two files with ease and you can jump from difference to difference.
