2.0 HDI(RHZ) 110HP Citroen C5 (2003)

Hi fellows

Maybe time to share my plans and maybe i got some feed back also.
I am still beginner after doing these edc15c2 HDI more than one year.
Before this car i had xsara and i managed to tuned it well but now i decided to go little bit further so here my plans:
Step 1:
- Swapping old K03 toGTB1449VZ turbo from latest 2L/16V C5(163hp). I hope that will help me easily over 150HP barrier
Step 2:
- Swapping 1800bar RP sensor. Hopefully this will help me to get some extra juice, with to make injection time too long
Step 3(optional):
- Swapping Boost Sensor. If fuel side is not restricted my tune, then i tune boost over 1.45bar. In this point sensor need to swap.
Step 4(optional):
- Swapping CP1 pump to CP3(optional). I let this step to optional. I had read that this should be easy job to done, like bolt on or something like that.

Also maybe preparing to de-cat that exhaust side.

Hopefully that N75 calibration map modifying is going well. That new turbo will spool really quick so need to take care that not get any over boost situation.
My goal is also get Turbo awake up and working on low RPM(from 1300). Old turbo is waking up on 1500RPM. This should make light sub urban riding more comfortable. My plans is not pushing any high IQ to low RPM's.


Currently i had logged 71mm IQ on rpm 2750-3500. After swapping turbo i hope that maybe i can get 80mm max IQ:s. Hopefully that is happen with decent injection time.

Any experiences from other HDI tuners, that what is "OK" EOI for 4000rpm ?
I had start preparing new RP and SOI maps with new IQ scaling and thats why interested to hear some experiences from others...

Also do you guys think that RP 1600bar is safe to make with stock R65 model pump at 4000RPM ??
Currently i had 1420-1440Bar with out any problems.

Project is ongoing slowly but some progress has been happen.
I got now exhaust manifold modified for installing new turbo on it.
Also oil input / output adapter is designed(they are located on same side in this turbo).
Down pipe will be small challenge( i hope), at least there is decent amount of room there.

Also i had been put some effort to investigate what turbo maps and N75 maps is used on different driving situations.
I was found out that single maps is used on all conditions.
So my questions are:
1. 2.2 HDI has vnt turbo, do they use only same maps for all conditions also or is there different maps for low gear and different for high way ?
2. Will i have boost spike problems, if i try to make good compromise for 1st gear acceleration and then for high way accelerations ? ?

Hi db warrior,I had my hdi 90 xzara picasso remapped by "hdi tuning" to the 125 bhp stage 1. I also smashed the cat out & fitted a K&N air filter. Goes really well now,effortless overtaking & does around 50 mpg.
Was thinking about having a stage 2 remap which will need an aftermarket charge cooler (my car hasn't got one at all) & a mechanical boost controller to get the power up to 155 bhp.
Should be FUN! :mrgreen:

Some updates:
almost one year behind turbo swapping. As we predict this turbo is spoopilng really quick. N75 calibrating was quite challenging but now it works quite decent. Still using under 1.4 boost.
Now planning to get some more from currrent setup(GTB1449VZ, 1800RP sensor, 3bar MAP sensor).
I am preparing new SOI and RP maps and my question is:
- What kind of SOI values is good for power with 3500, 4000 and 4500rpm ?
- What kind of rail pressure orginal R65 rail pump can maintain on 4000rpm @ IQ80

Maybe 2.0HDI tuners are not reading these topics or maybe they don't want share they experiences :(

Any way, now car is working really nice. Turbo is spooling quickly and low.
N75 calibrations and pid control is much better than year ago.
I am "only" using IQ 79mm3 @ 3000 and 69@4500.
Performance with these IQ accelerating 3rd gear when put "pedal to metal" on 50kmh:
60->80km/h 2,2sec
80->100km/h 4,5sec
100->120km/h 7,8sec

Maximum Rail pressure on log is 1510bar. Used boost pressure is 1,3bar

Now i had order 3bar boost sensor. It was really cheap and that is making me doubt that maybe not good.
Maxgear 21-0216, cost leas than 10euros.

So next step is change boost sensor and rise up IQ to 85 and boost to 1.5.
I already has re-scaled SOI, RP, Duration maps to IQ85

Finaly i got time to check that low cost 3bar sensor linearity.
Measured pressures are relative pressures. Whether station was shown 1008mBar.
As you see from picture it goes really linear up but not to 2000mbar as sensor specified.

Bosch document says that 400mV / 20Kpa and 4650mV / 300kPa. By using these it is quite close but not perfect so i calculate new values and then using them.
