MPPS "v13" clone vs EDC16C34 - this happens with clones

Postby ecuedit » Wed Dec 18, 2013 12:03 pm

I decided to share this with others.
I was rescuing the OBD flashing attempt from the guy that wanted to flash his car with clone over OBD (EDC16C34).

After flashing car won't start - classic.

here is example of eeprom before and after flashing.

It is the EEPROM, not the Flash...

After a quick look, I didn't even spot the difference... What did I miss?

p.s.: I'm at work right now, so I didn't even have much time to take a look.. :)

OMG, that's just awful. :eh:

It's like having a picture of opened cystic acne as a profile picture on facebook. :wtf:

Is it really a result of bad engineering of a clone's firmware, or could it be something else like bad battery, bad USB connection or device driver, maybe faulty cracked flashing software? Is the result repeatable?

Will take some time when i will have no rush and check which data is changed.
I did not have time to check injector coding.

Flash file was ok and written properly.

After i have repaired it, the guy tested once again in front of me, all procedure was OK,
battery ok and it did the same, so i repaired it once again.

So avoid that :)

Just a dumb question... what was this guy trying to modify in EEPROM?
