Maybe coincidence and you have the brake switch damaged?

I never used any of those clone tools (or real mpps) but if you only read the ecu that is impossible to say the least to happen...

But writing with wrong sw or incorrect chk/mod can do that.

I didn't read the flash of the car, I just did the diagnostics before and after that. Of course I watched my friend reading it.

There was no DTC before reading and after the reading only the error "ecu locked" since he had some problems with pulling out the flash. But "ecu locked" is normal when diagnostics or reading/flashing fails. The flashing of the glow plug shouldn't relate to the "ecu locked" issue.
