Honda EDC16C31 Torque Limiters

Postby Relic » Wed Aug 08, 2012 6:52 pm

I am finding it difficult to grasp which are Fuel based torque limiters and which are NM based torque limiters in this ECU.
It seems more schizophrenic than me lol.
Can someone help make sense of these...

C1402 16X16 Torque Limiter - Pedal% vs RPM = NM
D10C0 6X25 Torque Limiter - Atm Pressure vs RPM = NM
D13F6 25x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = NM [appears to be the main limiter]
{I am 95% sure of these}

Are these also torque limiters straight after ?
D145C 25x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ
D14C2 25x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ
They might just be off the scale NM to disable them....but I aint sure.
Duration axes hits 100mg/str although most only hit 75mg/str

I then have..
2x driver wish starting D240A (surrounded by 3x 16x16.. % vs rpm = IQ maybe, almost like disabled DW tables),
3x lambda maps starting D35A6 and
3x NM>IQ maps starting D3CAA.
[I am 95% sure with these]

Then...

Are these also torque limiters straight after ?
D45C6 16x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ
D4632 25x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ
D4698 25x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = NM :? [I was thinking maybe limp mode limiter for this]
D46EA 15x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ
D4728 15x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ
D4766 15x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ
D47A4 15x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ
D47E2 15x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ
D4820 15x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ
D485E 15x1 Torque Limiter - RPM = IQ

And does anyone one know the typical sequence of the functions of each limiter.
If they are for each gear and such.
I know the BMW EDC 16 typically has a set of 7 ...11x1 TLs for the gears if I remember right.
So perhaps these 15x1s have the same role.

All the torque limiters in edc16 are NM based. In some cases where they are not used they can be set very high.

Yes the IQ ones all appear set at 9000 or 90mg/str.
Except the limp mode one.

I was thinking of using them to stop smoke in 1st and 2nd gears where the car engine rpm accelerates too quick for the turbo to keep up.
Or maybe limiting lower gears when I crank up the power.

I have DW in NM & IQ so it must be using both as the IQ table is lower than the NM table.
So basically the NM table never really gets used other than a safeguard.
