i hope that am posting in the right section, am totally new to ecu remapping i used to tune Megasquirt 1&2 fuel and spark so i know how the engine operates and what are the attributes needed to start the engine and also squeeze it but i've never dealt with a stock ecu maps or how can i get into it so am wondering how can i get the access to those maps to alter it or even create new maps if possible what are the tools required and what's the software please excuse my little knowledge about those stuff but guidance is really needed if there are books to read or how can i get into the matter, the project am working on as an experiment is fiat 1.6 16v it uses Magneti Marelli IAW 1AF.1G i don't know how to access ROM and certainly don't know how burn data on it so please guide me where to start any help will be highly appreciated.

really appreciated, but if i may ask does each one can work on all ecu''s or there's a code specific tool for each ecu, i am sorry if i am asking a silly question, you can figure out where am at now :lol:

correct me if am wrong if i use WinOLS i will only need a chip burner and if so how can i use the program to access the maps and tune it from there i can handle the maps if i can access them
