EDC15xyy family

Postby hinkxx » Sun Aug 12, 2012 10:58 pm

I've made a list of EDC15 ECUs. From what I've got here, they can be roughly divided into four groups:

EDC15 C yy (yy: 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13)
EDC15 M yy (yy: 1)
EDC15 P yy (yy: +, -)
EDC15 V yy (yy: +, -, M)

More detailed list is in the PDF.

Does anyone know what the major differences would be among these ECUs?

I think...
some use pressure control
some use vacuum control
some use vnt
some were wastegated

Ive seen threads on people swapping out ecus to get the new capabilites.
I defo no expert on vag ecus....but if it helps I guess it dont matter.

EDC15 C - They are all common rail ECUs. Used on JTD, HDI, CDI engines from 1998->. The diference in them is in the SW setup. Early models can be found with or witout boost control (with wastegate turbos or with VNT turbos).

EDC15 M - Mainly Opel/Vauxhall cars.

EDC15 P - Used by VAG group (audi, seat, skoda, vw) in Pumpe Duse engines.

EDC15 V - Used by VAG group (audi, seat, skoda, vw) in rotary injection pump engines. All have boost control, but 90hp engine uses wastegate and 110hp uses VNT turbos.

Thanx guys, now I just need to understand what it all means ;-)

In other words, is EDC15P used in VAG SDI & TDI engines?
