EDC15P+ Help!!

Postby gr33nlemon » Sat Oct 04, 2014 2:19 pm

Hello,

I managed to brick my ecu in a pretty big way. I used an galleto 1260 cable to download the original bin, and modified it from there. After some modification I written the bin to the ecu, laptop plugged in, car was charging, and I didn't have any error. I was very surprized when the car didn't start. When I tried to read the ecu I don't get any response.

So I went to a ,,pro" tuner to recover my ecu, he took my original bin copied with the galleto cable, the nice bit is that it still doesn't start. Si I bought a galleto cable and made a bench so I can write it in boot mode ( don't know why but the ecu doesn't enter boot mode in the car. )

Now I can enter in boot mode every time and write whatever I want, but the car doesn't start, I don't get any reading from it, or ecu id. I tried original files from the web but with the same result. Any suggestions?

The car is an VW lupo 3l, from 2001. I wanted to make an ecu tune with a bit more hp. I need the car ASAP because it's my daily commute vehicle, the other car is a diesel guzzling monster that leaves my pockets dry pretty fast. :D

Can you just confirm for me the procedure you are using to get boot read/write the ecu? As I'm not sure if we're confusing boot read/write with bench read/write. Which is quite different for the purpose of what we might need.

Then it might be worth uploading a read from the ecu as it is (in the no-start condition) so somebody can check the flash consistency.

I made myself a bench using a PC source for a steady 12.75V, made the wiring harness, and ground te pin 24 on the AM29F400BT. The in MPPS i select generic and the EDC15+. And I write it with the bin.
I know what I'm doing, it's not my first project, just the first time I work with a VW and the edc15. :)

Update: I uploaded the bin from the 1.4 tdi and it boots on it's own, i can get the ECU id, etc. These ECU's are really bullet proof :))

This is the original bin downloaded with the galleto. I suspect something is missing but the filesize is spot on...

That's allright, I just get a lot of people saying they've r/w with a bootloader when they've literally just stuck it on bench!

checks look okay with the uploaded file, i assume it's a none starter if it's written with bootloader with this file?

Yes the original software from the ecu is a non starter, and I have checked the check sum in VAGEDCSuite and everything seemed ok. The 1.4tdi software doesn't know what to do with the tiptronic gearbox :), I found another software for the lupo 3l, but I'm waiting for the battery to charge up completely before attempting another start.

Update: It starts with another 3l software, but the immobilizer kicks in, can I extract the immo part from the original bin to the new one?
