Alfa 1.9 JTD 85kw - beginers start

Postby sike_145 » Mon Oct 21, 2013 11:29 pm

Hi,
I started with remapping my ECU with WinOLS demo...just to see if I got the point of remapping.
Can someone look at attached ols file, version remap1, and tell me if I going in right direction or I'm wrong.
I'm confused in some kind of limiter at 78596 (is this air temp vs rpm?), because in normal temperature at 20 'C there is limit to 34,35 mg of fuel...or there is some factor to apply to this values?

Please look and make some comments and guidance what map I should do next.

Thanks!

Galetto 1260 is more reliable than MPPS for this ECU. Mpps can erase flash and sometimes it won't start writing...
Result --> car won't start :) and desoldering the chip.

Good to know for this difference between MPPS and Galleto!!!
I have both interfaces, but used MPPS for reading flash from ECU. I haven't even try with Galleto...but I see that I should :)
I haven't courage yet to reprogram ECU...I'm waiting for programmer for AM29F400BT-70SE...I think that thic memory is in this ECU. So if something fails during programming...I have alternative to recover ECU.

I have to do make some comments on this; I have used MPPS and Galletto for multiple ECU reading (to confirm that file is OK) and MPPS always works OK. But with Galletto I have problems - first time after starting program it reads ECU OK, bud if I try to read second time without closing Galletto & reconnecting interface...it start reading but then stops at randomly time and make error exception.

I haven't yet done writing but this looks like MPPS is more stable than Galletto??

I also found on internet that MPPS have recovery mode, it can reprogram ECU if communication is lost during programming (there is also a video on youtube who accidentaly break communication to ECU while programming with MPPS...and it recovers it without desoldering chip)

Can you explain what is boot mode and how to do that?
I have MPPS and Galleto bought on ebay so I suppose it's quality is far from original...so I'm affraid to brick my ECU. Because of that, I bought this cable: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-ALFA-LAN ... 1116525628
Is this usable if MPPS or Galletto fails to write flash to ECU via car's OBD interface?

I have also bought willem programmer and additional 29AM400BT chip (which should be in EDC15C7 ECU) so now I have spare pre-programed chip with my original flash from car. So desoldering chip is my last resort if everything else fails...but I want to avoid this becouse I don't have heated air soldering tool...and with normal soldering iron is difficult to desolder this chip.

Before programming my ECU, I searching for all methods for programming ECU and be prepaired for it because I need ma car every day for go to work. So please, tell me what are options (what HW and SW tools) to program my ECU if programming via car's OBD interface fails.

Thanks!

Waste of money, I'm sure there is nothing except the wires.
