So I guess I need to get to 3 posts before I can raise a new thread ?

3 useful posts, not 3 random posts, we won't help someone scamming the rules.

hi,
this is from direct point of view, but if we look it deeper...most of users come to register and only download things without any contribution. Taking must also provide giving.

So:
1. post is introduce,
2. post one contribution - any kind of contribution without crap
3. post question what you ask for...

number 1 and 3 are obvious, nuber 2 is something that you show some will to cooperate...

that is not so hard and shows some will to contribute as well. Guys who do not contribute and only take, do not help the community at all.
Also most of guys are only selling things, which is also not positive for community.

Another method insted of that method would be invitation. So registration not possible without invitation. Anyway,
this solution is better. Always have to look from 2 different point of view :-)

As you know, I reached out to you yesterday.

As a newbie, how can one contribute if they have limited knowledge?

The last thing I would want to do is offer information to another newbie by regurgitating something that might be incorrect.

I have looked back at some of my old posts and there was a suggestion to use TL866 to read immo chip on EDC15C2. That is now not up-to-date information as things seem to have moved on.

Also, as a suggestion, it would be really useful if the forum had a bookmark facility for bookmarking useful posts thus making them easier to find.

I raised this question with admin yesterday because I had not received any response to some recent queries. Maybe those queries are outside the scope of the forum? Maybe there is no-one here that knows the answer? I even stated that if this is not the correct forum to be posting such things could anyone suggest a more relevant forum.

You, yourself, have been helpful in the past in questions I have asked.

One other suggestion for admin is it would be useful to have a Thanks button so you can show thanks rather than randomly posting thanks. Something I don't believe I have fallen foul of.

However, I'd like to ask you a question because I am confused as to why I have not received ANY responses of late. How can a newbie contribute with 3 useful posts if a) they do not have the confidence to reply to other posts and b) they have confidence / memory issues.

I have seen posts on here where users seem to contradict each other and hence this then creates doubt and confusion.

I'd love to be able to help out and advise but I've been burnt on other forums in the past where I have tried to regurgitate something very technical (it was on a legal forum) and then got shot down in flames...

In fact, I get so confused at times and forgetful that I have even posted in "Introduce yourself" section twice. Once 6 years ago and once again recently thinking I had flouted the "Introduce yourself" rule!!!
