Software used for ECU editing

which software

Postby daveybee » Thu Jun 18, 2015 10:15 pm

hi all, i'll start at the beginning.
basically i do alot of modification work. bigger turbos, injectors intercoolers, exhausts, rebuilds etc etc.
But all my remaps are done by other companies, sometimes with big waiting lists which isnt practical at times.

id like to start re-mapping myself. i understand the basics but im unsure of which software is suitable.
kess v2 i understand is basically for flash maps and the k-tag is for bench mapping (in easy terms) but id software for custom mapping. hope this makes sense to you all.

thanks in advance.

For the beginners, I would probe swiftec, and when you have more experience, winols.

I would recommend WinOls out of the gate. I hace ECM Titanium and IMHO is quite harder to use. I find WinOls
more intuitive than the other. Plus you will find that most of the goo tuners use WinOls.
Good luck and happy tuning

WinOls and tunerpro i good applications to use..

If you can get definitions for tunerpro or mappacks for WinOls it will make life a lot easier...

I have just joined this site, and am amazed by all the knowledgeable and helpful members here. I look forward to learning how to improve the present tune in my 2001 Jetta TDI.
