What File Editing Software

Software used for ECU editing

What File Editing Software

Postby Engineer » Sat Dec 28, 2013 1:52 pm

Hi All I am new to the forum.

Looking for some of your professional advice on what file editing software I could use, I specialize in turbo charger remanufacturing
and Dpf removal. I normally read the file and email it to a tunner who then mods it for me. I use the Galletto 2 to read and write
ECUs which seems to work fine, I would appreciate any advice you guys would have on what file editing software I could use as i would
like to learn how to edit a file.

Many Thanks

Hello,
If you want always 100% working solution. You have to use manually correction files with WinOLS.

I agree with ASEconsulting.

There are more "user friendly" and easy to use chiptuning softwares, like ECM titanium, map3d, swiftec and others, but they are bullshit if you want to squeeze out the maxium possible power from your ECU and expecially if you want to understand well what's going on on your engine.

Another (free) option which is TunerPro. However, the major disadvantage with this software is it requires somebody to have created a *.xdf file which has the memory locations and checksum algorithms for the particular ECU you're trying to tune. You can search their website to see the *.xdf files which have already been created (mostly GM, Ford, Nissan, and BMW). Good luck!
