Postby mnt29537 » Sun Jan 11, 2026 3:14 pm

Hello gyus im really new to this but i bought a skoda fabia 1.9tdi axr thats already been remaped and the tune is real bad the car pulls really hard but there is a huge boost lag and the fuel efficiency is non existant and i would love to get the original file flashed onto the ecu for a fresh start but i have no idea what software and hardware i need for this also i dont have the original file

Cheap Galletto or MPPS is good, but be carefull with checksum, MPPS18 do it ok, most cheap tools fail.

Sorry to hear you're dealing with a bad remap on your Skoda Fabia 1.9TDI AXR. The boost lag and poor fuel economy you mentioned often point to incorrect DTC settings in the tune or active fault codes that are limiting performance.

Here's a suggested approach to sort it out:

Step 1: Read the fault codes first
Before you flash back to stock, scan the ECU with a diagnostic tool to see what codes are stored. A bad remap can trigger codes that cause limp mode or boost lag.

Step 2: Tools you'll need
- Flashing / reading– Galletto or MPPS (as ceecee already suggested)
- DTC analysis- I've been using FireDTC; it helps pinpoint and remove specific DTCs without touching everything else.

Step 3: How FireDTC can help
FireDTC is a DTC removal tool designed to target individual codes rather than wiping the entire fault memory. Since you're new to tuning, it could be useful for:
- Checking which DTCs are currently active
- Clearing problematic codes before flashing a new file
- Getting the ECU ready for a fresh, clean tune

Right now FireDTC is in open beta, and you can get 3 months free access:

Important note before flashing:
Try to obtain your vehicle's original stock file first. Some tuners keep backups for their customers. If that's not possible, you'll need to find a stock file that matches your exact ECU part number.

If you need a hand with HWID or activation, just give me a shout – happy to walk you through it, especially since you're just getting started.

One more thing: If you use my invite code, could you also share your HWID with me? That way I can get some free extension time too.Cheer!
