Volta

Can anyone tell me what Volta actually does when patching files to get EGR off? Didn't have a chance to compare original and patched files.

Ok I did some more investigations and found that it only flats whole EGR map to same values. No other maps are touched. Shouldn't you compensate injections and/or airflow elsewhere?

it depends which binary you put in it. In most cases it makes crap. It deletes complete DTC classes or tables, so when something is wrong with the car, you do not see any errors, than you need to diagnose the car by looking the parametes if it is possible to find problem that way...in most cases yes, but sometimes - no.

Than volta also lifts up limp torque, so when car has to be in limp mode because of critical error it does not fall in limp mode...
Also misses maps, switches and so on. Some solutions are switch solutions - that solutions are OK. It is hard to say for which thing,
because you have to put exact sample that i could tell you more.

Most things are not ok, some are right and properly located.

My suggestion - do it manually by looking damos.

Thank you for great answer.
Got both files now - Honda original and the one patched with Volta. Tried to see the differences with HexCmp and my inexperienced decision is that it only alters the MAP values. Can someone confirm it?

You do not have permissions to view the files yet. You have to be registered and you have to make at least 3 quality / unique posts.

hi,
first i must say that this file will brick your ecu, because checksum is not modified.
Next thing - modified is only 1 hysteresis map - there are more of those maps.
Third thing that wont help you will electrical part of the egr is faulty.

This kind of egr off is not full egr off and you may face dtc + limp in case of electrical problem.

Actually this file got already written to ECU and it SEEMS to work even after physically blocking the EGR pipe - no DTCs.

EGR valve itself wasn't performing as it should and that's why I decided to blank it in first place rather than buying a new valve. Ideally I'd like to delete it completely, but it isn't that easy anymore, is it?

I also blocked the EGR with a blanking plate and got no problems since. I'm just wondering if it will be harmful to engine in any way?
