I have a stupid newbie question (sorry in advance).

Are there any other additional steps after MPPS v12 says the flashing is complete (turn off ignition, wait 5 sec, click OK, wait 5 sec, turn on ignition, DONE...)?

I am asking because my car doesn't work at all if I flash the ECU with any kind of modified software (even if it's just a small change in a single IQ limiter or EGR map which shouldn't cause any trouble) but flashing again with the original dump always brings the car back to life (thank God for that :D). So, I wonder if I need to do something after flashing with a modified software (other than those steps what MPPS tells me already) to make the ECU read and accept the new flash content?

I don't know, but I can think about some crazy stuff like removing the main battery cable, or close every doors and lock the car with the remote, etc, etc. -> Is there any magic procedure to carry out after an ECU flashing (when you flash modified content)?

Of course, the other suspect of this crime (parallelized car instead of tuned car) is the editing software. But both VAG EDC15P+ Suite 1.3.9.0 and MPPS v12 agree that every checksums are fine and a byte-to-byte comparison shows that the editor does changes in two places in the file when I change a value. I guess the first is the changed value itself and the other is the checksum. And MPPS confirms that the checksums are OK. So, I don't know it feels like a mistery unless I miss an important step.

Hi m8,
Do not trust the China clone tool, message checksum OK may be false, use Winols to make checksum.

Make sure you have turned on auto checksum in vag edc15 suite and there is no special proceedure other than what you have described. Maybe try removing fuses 11 and 15 if they are there other than that could be a faulty cable however this is unlikely to me since you can put back on the original file hmmm...

Actually it was turned ON and now I am sure that this caused the problem!
After I forbid vagedc15 suite to touch the checksums and I used a small separate utility to correct them (after the map editing with the suit, of course), I finally got a binary which works on my car without problems (well, it starts and moves, the tuning itself obviously needs further testing).
