Tuning a Mercedes CL65

Postby TurboTim » Mon Oct 07, 2013 4:21 pm

I just picked up a CL65. I got a tune from a tuner online but I am not happy with it and want more. I want to upgrade the turbos but this is not a car that is modified on a regular basis. So reflashes are limited. I have tuned other cars with standalones (AEM, MS, DTA) and DSM link but I have never messed with the stock computer on a car. I figure this is a great car to start with since its speed density and only has narrow band O2's. What is the first step towards doing this? I downloaded WinOls. Whats next?

What do I use to read the file on my ECU. I have Galletto, KWPs2000, J2535. And many other cables. Is there some software I should use?

simply start your galetto and try if you´ll find your mercedes there.
if yes (i dont think so), simply try to read the ecu.

you cannot damage anything if you only try to read the ecu.

if reading was successful, send me your file or post it here and we will continue helping you.

i guess your tools couldnt read that ecu by obd. in this case you have to spend a little more time
with the bootstrap-loader. read your docs coming with the galetto and read the ecu on the desk.

that should work now. this job is a little more tricky and risky. be careful, otherwise you will grill your cpu...

good luck.
