Hi all my very first post.....
Triumph T100 watercooled 2020 Parallel Twin
Is it possible that my ECU is causing a cold start idle speed tapping pinking or detonation call it what you like....it dont start till about 20 to 30 seconds after cold start.....last about 2 mins and the slowly goes as the motor warms.....sweet as a nut then.
I alway let the bike warm on cold start thats how I hear the tapping.
Checked all the usual stuff...slack valve chain tensioner.
Bought the bike new....noise the noise at around 500miles....could have been there earlier and I didnt notice.
I have TuneEcu....reading the sensors with it on cold start....the tapping....a light metallic sound bit irregular start as the coolant temp sensor sees 25c....and the timing is around 16deg at that point.....tapping goes as the temp coolant temp hits about 50c and timing is then around 14deg.
High have use 95 and 99 octane petrol.....95 octane is the book spec.....UK gas grades.
Triumph dealers dont have a clue.
The bike runs on Euro 4 emission stds.
Lots of other owners of these bikes suffer this.....its the 900 and 1200 parallel twin.
Maybe nothing I know....but I need to know.
Nick in the UK.
