Smoke Limiter on EDC15

Postby mmparts » Thu Feb 23, 2017 1:54 am

Hello guys! I have question about the smoke map. As I know here in smoke limiter map is shown the fuel to air ratio. On mine situation I have 1.9TDI 90hp ALH engine with remap without any smoke at full throttle  . But now let say I want to have big amount of black smoke from exhaust when I push it hard. Here is picture of the maps - ori map and map used now(with this map i got the car)
How should I change the ratio? It's changed only in corner so how to make it now for smoke - increase it or reduce it? I say for example in 2247rpm(y axis) and 850mg/stroke(x axis) it's 38,50 and Air/Fuel ratio is about 22.. So if I increase it to 52,50(how it's on second map) it became 16.19... When increase it here in this map the ratio reduces - I think it means no smoke then. So should I reduse it on right map or what? If I'm wrong about something say it, i'm beginner and i'm still learning how to make the things work how I want.

More fuel at same amount of air makes more smoke.

I already try to add more with with raising the voltage level to pump but no result, and I don't want to go higher with voltage on it. So here, i've watched a video that shows some calculations about air-fuel ratio. But it was shown on WinOLS and i work with VagEDCSuite - I'm kind of confused. Can you tell me on those maps how should I change the values - reduce them or increase them?
I ask about that becouse that man with video when reduces the values get ratio let's say from 1:14,6 to 1:18,0 and when increase the values on smoke limiter map he gets ratio from 1:14,6 to 1:12,1 for example. I have 2 options - to make 2 files - first with reduced values on Smoke limiter map and second with increased if nobody say what i need to do. Thanks for fast answer buddy!

Today I tested this map with reduced values. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKE.... what should i change? Test it with increased values from previous map?

Increase the values in Smoke limiter map. Add IQ to make the smoke.

The question that everybody whant to know is - Why do you like to make the car smoke? It is bad for the engine, the consumption and for the environment.

Thanks, will test that, but what values should try? On the ori map that car came with max values was about 51.
About that - why I want smoke... Well I want to learn how to make it and how not. I don't do remapping and chip tuning and other things like that. I'm just a fan and i've grown up with engines, bikes, cars, trucks... Just want to learn, becouse i want to make my car(whatever car i have in future) to make some "tuning"on it. About smoke - will only test it to see how will go thing and will put back the "nosmoke" file :) Thanks for advise RPM Freak, could you say also something about values, how much should increase them?

Hi again. I tested this one and again no smoke... Reduced, increased values - still no smoke. What now?

The map you are editing is just the smoke liniter which is just a limiter so if the map before it is less then it wont have no effect look at the values in the torque limiter if they are lower than smoke then thats why you have no smoke

best i think is flat this map and use or activate "iq by map" , that you can control better smoke
