Postby samotin » Thu Dec 25, 2014 11:28 pm

Hello,

My ecu siemens sid803a is broken. I found one in ebay, it is the same model. I would like to know if I need to clone it or do something im the ecu or just to put it in the car and that's it.

Thank you in advance and sorry for my english.

Thank you for the answers. I think it will be better to take the ecu to someone to fix it. Do you know if it is so hard to find what component/s are failing? The thing is that the car lose the power like the turbo does not work. I have these DTC 0605 and 299

Could you write something more? When problem occurred, what car are you using, have you done any modification in the past (tunning)?

I have a Volvo v50 2.0 136cv year 2004. I did never do anything in the ecu. The problem started some months ago when the car went to limp mode. I found out that using one brand of diesel didn´t happen. Since 2 month ago when the weather became colder I can´t start the car, well I start the car and everything looks fine but after few seconds the engine stops. I have to try several times and in the end I can keep the engine started.

Another issue is that the car lost the power. I am thinking to remove the egr and the dpf.

Do you think the problem is in the ecu?

Thanks

Do proper diagnostics first ... most likely problem is not in your ECU
