not sure I'm in the good section or in the good forum ;)

I use a lucas rover MEMS2J, these ECU are normally not modifiable.

The EEPROM is a AT27C1024, they are read only (not confirmed)

I planned to unwelded it and to weld a PLCC44 on the ECU board to put a new one.

Then I have to read the current EEPROM then to copy/paste in a new one to check if the process works.

am I in the good path ? any other idea to plug something on this eeprom without removing it ?

can I try something before in first to attempt to read the eeprom from OBD ?

do you need some pics ?
