Read Ecu.

Postby nilsson » Tue May 10, 2016 8:48 pm

Hello.
I wonder little about the different ways to read Ecu.
Is it these four ways:

Read from Eeprom, remove eeprom and read/write in a EEprom reader?

Read from OBD2, connect to obd2 port and read/write?

BDM, open the ECU and read/write from BDM pads?

Boot mode, read/write from pins in ECU connector, and open ecu to connect to boot mode pad?

Have a got this correct.

Thanks and best regards.

In general you can say that most cars up to 2000 have to be soldered - eprom.
After 2000 you can read by OBD belonging to your Hardware. If your Hardware can not to that, you have to take your ecu out and do it with BDM/Bootmode

Depending on ECU
For beginner, i think the Ktag & Kess v2 is the best.
