Finally, I was able to successfully get the Nexiq USB Link to work with the Service Advisor software. Here’s the step-by-step process to follow: First, you need to flash your Nexiq device using the John Deere EDL firmware. Once this is done, you should see the EDL listed as a connected device in the Device Manager. It's crucial to find the original firmware and create a backup of it for safety. Next, locate the EDL.bin file within the John Deere Service Advisor software; however, I can't recall the exact location of this file. After finding it, copy and rename EDL.bin to usblink.bin, and then replace the original usblink.bin located in C:\NEXIQ\RP1210A\. After that, navigate to C:\NEXIQ\Test and open the checkbox for binload.exe to enable automatic USB-Link firmware updates. Finally, run CommCheck.exe, and the firmware will be updated, resulting in the Nexiq being renamed to EDL-Link.If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
