Bosch ME7.5 (Audi 1.8T AJQ/AUQ)

Postby Ionut » Tue Feb 19, 2013 9:44 pm

Hello. I have this backup file (not from my engine, but same engine code).
Also i have a DAMOS file for 1.8T 6 gang automatik (i think it doesn`t matter this on engine map tuning).
What I want to know is where to start with? How to do a good remap to keep lambda up, make more ecconomically below 3000 rpm and agressive after this (Maybe take off limiter from 6000+ rpm and more to 7500+).
Audi 1.8T ORI + DAMOS.zip

Also i have some edited files for it but i don`t have courage to put those on my ECU before someome experienced with this ECU takes a look inside :)

After reading 47 pages of informations about 1.8T correct remap i`ve just noticed that i have a lot to learn. I`ve found that usefull guide on vwvortex. I don`t know if I have rights to upload it here.
That guide is a general one that explain how this engine (ECU especially) works.
Few questions for people who managed to succesfully tune this engine.

AFR
lambda
Notes
6.0:1
0.41
Rich run limit
9.0:1
0.61
Low power, black smoke
11.5:1
0.78
Rich best torque at WOT
12.5:1
0.85
Safe best power at WOT
13.2:1
0.90
Lean best torque at WOT
14.7:1
1.00
Stoichiometry (ideal)
15.5:1
1.05
Lean light load, part throttle
16.2:1
1.10
Best economy, part throttle
18-22:1
1.22-1.50
Lean run limit

as 0.9 lambda means best torque with less fuel consumption, this sounds great for me, but how real is it? And, if i run lean (1.10) for economy, how will be affected torque?

Best setup for me will be something like 1.1-1.15 lambda between 800-3000 rpm and 0.85-0.9 between 3000 and limiter.
Also, a rev limit changed to 7000+ rpm whould be great, but i don`t know if internal stocks will manage that amount of cinetic forces.

Any map addresses, sizes, offets are welcomed.

Thank you,
Ionut.

Nothing?
As i know this is a popular ECU on VAG cars, nobody really tunned this?

On turbocharged cars best lambda for low load is lambda 1 - Stoichiometric.
When the load increases with the boost then the best lambda to use is 0.85. This way you can protect the engine from reaching high combustion temperatures and breaking parts. This is for street used cars. For racing there are other rules.

You can post whatever you like on the forum util the post dose not offend anybody.

All I want to achieve is to have low power/consumption between 800-3000 rpm, rev limiter raised to 7000+ rpm and more power from 3000 to 7000 rpm.
I`m using this car daily, so i`ll not change camshaft, valve springs and other stuff to get more power.
Car has now large exhaust from gallery to final tip.

I`ve read somewhere that i can upload more than one version of same map into EEPROM and make some software switches. Is that possible for this kind of ECU? Like having a default map and a sport one?

Thank you in advance,
Ionut.

No you can not upload to set of maps in this ECU. You can use 2 different flash chips with 2 different maps on them and make a switch between them. You can activate one or the other chip only when the ignition is OFF.

You mean 28F400BT chip, right?
Another question... i`ve just bought another ECU from an A4 AWT engine and realised that ECU code is 4B0 906 018 CH, Wideband lambda. Mine has narrow band lambda. If i`m adding wideband lambda and second lambda i can get my original ecu working fine? My engine is without VVT and AWT as i know has VVT.
Also, on ebay are a lot of ecu codes for my engine code:
06A 906 032 BB
06A 997 032 FX
8N0 906 018 AB
And much more.
Basically should fit any ME 7.5 ECU, right? If i`ll upload right file into eeprom and swap immo eeptom will work on my car?

Just looked into some logs. Mine is 06A 906 032 AF
As i`ve read on interner, the plugs are different from 018 to 032 (is there a plastic "pin" that prevents fitting wrong ECU in place).

Also, could you give me a tip wich map to edit for best results?
Here are a list of maps translated (from a damos for another type of 1.8T with automatic gearbox):
map addresses.png

Wich one are good (start & size). Some of thems have wrong offets/factors, i`ll need to find correct ones.
Thanks in advance.

- Yes. But the best thing to do is to make a really good remap and there will be no need for 2 chips. With good remap you can have more power and torque, so you can go thru the gears faster, achieving better fuel consumption.

For a good remap you must change Spark maps, Lambda maps. Load maps, Turbo maps. Before you even think about remap find all the info about your engine, so you can know the limits of its parts.
