EDC15P SOI and Duration Maps question

Postby pnshr » Sun Oct 13, 2019 9:46 pm

Hello guys, First sorry for the dumb question, because im a newbie :)

So... after having some insomnia nights while reading and learning the edc15p basics, I still can't understand did I need to change the SOI and Duration maps for Stage 1 (e.x 130hp PD)? If yes, how can I calculate how much degrees i need to add or edit somewhere? Somewhere I found people who says that i don't need to do any corrections with these maps for Stage 1 and other tell's me it is not possible to remap without editing soi and duration?
So.. If somebody who is more familiar with these things can help.. please. :) Other If somebody has a ori file of edc15p and the same mod stage 1 file can attach it for better understanding :)

Thanks!

Yes you need to change SOI and duration on stage 1 for 130 hp PD engines. As you can see the stock maps end at 55 or 60mg/str. you want more than that on your stage 1 --> changes required. Just replace a lower column with the next higher one and move the values accordingly now you should have a new column at the top. Than look at the last two columns and interpolate (example: 45 --> 55mg/str = +4.8° you shold use the 55mg value + 4.8° for the 65mg column)

The file I used for example: (I reduced Drivers Wish in the lower rpms to save the clutch that started slipping after 30tkm because the 5 speed clutch couldn't handle it, if you have a 6 speed you should be fine to use 70mg on Drivers Wish from the bottom up)

You might see different values on your file as there where different injector sizes used (520 and 550), but you should be able to see what changes I made to replicate on your file.

Warning: This map is the most agressive I would ever use on these stock engines, that amount of boost will kill the GT1749VA if it's not in a very good shape! Just using this file as a template for tuning the duration and SOI maps should be fine.
