Checksum/Advice

Postby Ade » Sat Nov 03, 2018 10:57 am

Hi all I have recently bought a map for an E46 320d saloon which had the checksum corrected so I could just write to the car, I have recently sold the car to buy an estate version. they are both 150hp engine is it safe to use the map on my new car? and can someone checksum the file for me as I don't have the software.

Thanks in advance!

Checksums are already ok... and unless both engines are the same S/W and H/W numbers then no you can't use it.

Oh so the checksum is already ok on the remap file compared with original? is this common as I haven't done anything to correct the checksum. and without sounding to stupid what do you mean by S/W and H/W numbers please.

thanks in advance!

S/W = Software .. H/W = Hardware
Both are written on the ECU itself, and electronically.. if you have original of your new car then we can check

hi thanks for all your help, I posted both files on my original post.
the file from my car I have now is the one with original in the name.

I used a checksum checker and with both files loaded it looks like the checksum is incorrect compared with the original, I will upload a photo.

thanks

Volta isn't always correct, I checked in WinOLS and it's fine.
The files in the above post are compatible, so yes you can put the mod in your car
