Which tools do I purchase???

Postby qtmtuning » Tue Sep 23, 2014 5:06 pm

I am in the the process of purchasing slave tools and need some advise please. I have 3 options Kess V2, Magpro X17 and CMD. Which is the best option considering that I will mostly be flashing VW, Audi, BMW and occasionally Mercedes??

Also it will be nice if you could recommend a good company to write files (You can PM me). I have a few options, but concerned that due them having so many dealers, quality might be compromised.

Thank you

Ive read good things about the Kess. It seems the old adage "you get what you pay for" might apply here.

depending on the cars that you need to tune
edc16 / ppd1.X etc

or
edc17 tricore siemens med mev

there are fine tools tu use that not cost lot of money to subscription each year ...

I will ask you here not to assume an additional topic.
I am looking for a universal flash programmer, and I am wondering about LT866A.
What do you think about it and can you recommend something similar - better?

The TL866 is just a chip programmer, it is cheap but good quality, tho best buy the TL866CS not the TL866A.
If you want an OBD programmer for chiptuning then this is not the tool for the job

ICSP is not useful in automotive electrotechnic because cars units do not support it

You will need many tools, MPPS, Kess, Galletto etc...
All have different values
