Bosch Motorsport ECU help

Postby robs » Wed May 21, 2014 5:20 am

I have a Bosch MS2.2.1 in a F3 race car running an Opel engine. I am told that it is an ME7.1 rebadged but I am not convinced as it runs software called VM3000. The model number is 0261206783. I cannot get the Lambda sensor to act on the injection map. It seems to be running rich. The readout on the dash says 1.31 at all times which is incorrect as I have checked with a separate O2 sensor. The wiring and Lambda sensor have been checked and double checked for electrical power to the heater and signal voltage output but it seems that something within the ECU is not accepting this input. I am wondering if there is some sort of calibration or lock out routine that needs to be performed? Any suggestions woould be greatly appreciated.

Hi Robs,

The ECU is called MS 2.2.1, this is correct. The Bosch ME 7.1 is the model of the mass production ECU which is used for F3 from 2001.
VM3000 is the calibration Tool which is needed for the 2.2.1. The lambda value basicaly is correct, the problem is, that the sensor needs apx. 700 degC to read proper values. Difficult in to reach in the pit.
Do you have the equipent to read out the logged data?

Regards

Wolfgang

Hi,

Does anyone have idea where to get VM3000 software and cable between ecu and computer?

Best regards,
Lasse
