Newbie - removing DPF from ECU

Postby nipper76 » Sat Jan 05, 2013 11:06 pm

Hello, Im nipper :)

My cars currently in Limp mode due to the antipollution fault / Dpf etc...
( i have a (51) Pug 307 2.0 D turbo )

The Filter has now been emptied of all the honeycomb mesh.

I found someone online that does remaps and DPF removal over Email if your unable to get to somebody yourself.
so as he recomends, i have bought the galletto 1260 so i can retreive the file he needs so he can mod it.

But im quite curios on if i can do it and i would quite like to learn.
Ive seen mixed reports on this ECUsafe, and also seen people recomend using hex editors..? but obviosly that requires back ground knowlage of what your looking to edit.

so... could someone break it down to me..?

ive also looked around for this ECUsafe but cant find it anywhere.

many thanks for any information

Dan

Do not use programs that do that instead of manually. You have to find things manually and do the job...that's the right way...

Ecusfe will probably work if you have edc15 fitted to your car but as ecuedit says its always best to have done by genuine tuning man ! if not you might end up having a car that never shows any fault code ever again even if it dosnt run :( DTC tables removed) and i am sure you dont want that?

Thanks kev
