Nitro OBD2

Postby chinlin » Wed Dec 16, 2015 3:21 am

Hi all,

I saw some OBD2 product can tune or remap the ECU's internal data.
wonder how does the product know what ECU they are, and remap data to ECU?

or is there any standard OBD2 protocol to send remap data to ECU?

my guess is that:
such product tried to know what ECU vendor they use, and collect the information on car's information as much as possible.
then refresh the remap to ECU for the throttle/injection adjust.

thanks

These?

From a technical point of view they won't do anything. However at that price people will try it and not be too disappointed if it doesn't work.

Basically it's ripping people off, targeting people who don't mind being ripped off (much), and as a result is quite profitable for the device makers.

It might seem obvious, but read up 'the emperors new clothes' - this scam has been around for years and is effective.
