Peugeot 307 2.0 hdi edc15c2

myself and my sister both have peugeot 307s showing up the antipollution fault
i removed my dpf and cleaned it out using caustic soda.as soon as i connected everything back up and drove it the message didnt come back on. The next day however it came back on and has stayed on.
Do i just need to use peugeot planet to reset something? i dont have a lexia tool, would it be advisable to buy one? is ebay the best place to get one?

I have been advised to use ecusafe to remove the dpf completely as it will probably happen again.
I have experince of reading and writing map files to 306 hdis using galetto1260 cables, i believe this method is the same except i would have to alter the file in ecusafe.

Some people seem to advise against using ecusafe though and instead say to use winols?
I have never used winols, is this the better/safer option?

I am very new here so what I am about to say might be wrong.

I am also looking at disabling the EGR/DPF on my car also with the EDC15C2 ecu.

I have read mixed reviews about using ecusafe, and I have never used it so I am unable to give any input on that.
From my understanding that WinOLS Demo can not save/export the edited epprom dump file, but you can use any other hexedit to changed the needed switches within the file.
I have also read that you then might need to update the checksum within the file.
Once again from my understanding the switches that are needed to be changed are located at the addresses starting at 6111F and 7111F, and looks like: 001 001 000 000 001 000 001 000 001 048

000 = off (disabled)
001 = on (enabled)

I hope this is of some help to you.

Best Regards.

"The antipollution fault" message may means not only dpf problem. The message apears when the engine have a problem, it may be glow plug problem, fuel pressure problem, wrong data recieved from sensor, EGR, etc. You must read trouble codes befor remove FAP filter.

this error is for exhaust temperature sensor. By modifying with volta, you switched off that sensor, but there is also another setting in binary that tells the ecu the total number of exhaust temperature sensors and also other tricks like min max voltages and so on. So the ecu see like sensor is unplugged... you can also simply delete that DTC as it is not important for any other task in this ecu (it is cheating but it will work properly). It is always PROPER to modify logic not to delete errors...
