Ive been trying a few free or trial versions of OBD2 Diagnostic software with my MPPS V13 cable, I cant seem to get a connection, im not sure if the cable is compatible with the software. The software says it has problems with communication ports, Ive changed the usb ports etc but still no luck scanning the ecu.

Any ideas what im doing wrong :shifty:

I don't know if it is possible to diagnose with MPPS-cable. My solution was buy another (chinese) cable for diagnostic - it cost only a few euros.

Thanks, ended up doing the same thing and buying a ELM 327 type cable which should work with diagnostic software.

MPPS cable is for reading & writing to ECU's not for diagnostics.

OBD-II Software for ELM327 USB is a free program that allows you to use your PC and a hardware interface to get the information from your car's computer.

The program is very user-friendly, and easy to learn. It is also very easy to install: simply extract the files into a folder on your computer's hard drive, and you're ready to go. To uninstall the program, simply delete the entire contents of the folder where the program resides.

MPPS and ELM is absolutely not the same things :D
