Obd working edc16c34? Kess v2

Postby Wod » Thu Jun 25, 2015 12:13 am

Hello all, does the new kess clone work safely on ford 1.6 Tdci ?
Or is still bdm the only safe option?
If so, Can the bosch probes be purchased prebuilt?
Thanks all in advance

Eu clone yes, china clone needs rework no matter what fw it has to be safe, ecubay sells bdm adapters pre soldered ready to go

Ok thanks for the information,
To be honest I wouldn't mind taking the ecu out everytime if it is the safest option. I'm just very new to this car tech. Would it be best to read using the oe software or would reading it with winols be better? Or does it make no difference?
Cheers bud

kess is a good tool , if it reads ok then it will usually write ok, always keep the original file incase something goes wrong and don't rely on ksuite to correct the checksums properly, I always use winols for that, sometimes reading via kline wont work, you need to set speed to minimum on china clones, I used my china clone on many cars without problems but could of just been luck, I have now had it fully reworked and firmware updated for piece of mind, winols is for modifying the file, ksuite which comes with the kess is just for reading and writing the file back to the ecu, winols is the best tool in my opinion for modifying files once you get your head round it.

Slow speeds would be more stable anyway mate but can the speed be adjusted in k suite?
Also after write do you leave it for ten minutes?

Where are you located bud anywhere near East mids?

Once you have selected the vehicle in ksuite it should give you a setup option in the pop up box, if it will let you change the speed for that particular vehicle it will be there under "pull up", I always used minimum speed before mine was reworked just as a precaution, only vehicle I had problems with was a saab 95 edc16c39, it would fail half way through no matter what, I had someone who used to do my files for me with his own equipment so was luckily able to sort it out  It does however work on this car flawlessly now and reads and writes it about 12 minutes faster over all than it did before it was modified, it's well worth looking into for piece of mind more than anything, the chinese just seem to throw anything they have laying around on with no concern as to how it works lol. I'm down south mate.

Forgot to say, no need to leave in vehicle for 10 minutes after writing, ksuite will advise you as it goes through the reading and writing process, after its asked you switch the ignition on and off a thousand times it should be done

What year was this C4, do you have more details about ECU 0 2xx xxx xxx, 96xxxxxxxx..?
What did you do on this ECU, you can reply to PM not to stain others threads.
Thanks!
