New @ tuning what soft-& hardware to buy

Hi,

I'm new here and in the tuning world. I'm looking to buy everything but there is so much software that i don't know what. Can somebody help me?
It's certainly not to start tuning immediately.
I had my eye on the mpps v13.02, but i'm not sure if this is the best option.
It's mainly for a ford focus mk1 1.8 tdci from 2003 and a Renault Laguna mk3 2.0dci from 2007.
Can someone advice me in the direction?

Focus TDCi has a Delphi ECU, so MPPS is out of the game:

Beside, EDC16C34 is very risky to flash over OBD.

I use Galletto 2 for flashing my Mondeo TDCi (similar ECU) - it supports more brands of ford's ECU's (delphi, siemens, visteon levanta etc. - check the list) and has a BDM support. But it's slower, and people say that MPPS is very stable flashing VAG cars - I didn't notice this for Galletto 2.
