Hi All,

I just joined up because I am interested in learning about self tuning. I recently purchased a Jeep Liberty(Cherokee) 2.8L CRD to help around the house. US Emission requirement are very stringent on diesels in particular and require a substantial amount of EGR to be used. The downfall with this vehicle, at least in the US, is that it has premature rocker failures and other internal engine issues caused by soot contamination in the oil due to the excessive EGR usage. I am initially hoping to mitigate the EGR and associated FCV and then possibly start working on a performance tune. The jeep uses a Bosch EDC16C31.

A little history, I previously owned a 2006 Pontiac GTO(Holden Monaro, Vauxhall Monaro VXR) and a 2007 Subaru Legacy GT Spec.b. The GTO was stock except for some suspension mods and a short throw shifter, the Legacy is tuned with a turbo back exhaust and intake.

Looking forward to spending time here.
