Hi everyone,
My name is Cole, and I’m based in Seattle and am currently in a two-year technical program for motorcycle and boat engine repair. I joined ECUEDIT because I want to learn ECU calibration properly and understand the work I am doing, rather than relying on unknown files.
My current project is a 2009 Aprilia Shiver 750 with aftermarket slip-on silencers. I have completed the setup work on my end: correct cables, stable battery support, and a successful ECU read. I have saved and preserved the original BIN before making any changes.
The file identifies as:
- ECU: Magneti Marelli IAW 5DM
- Hardware: `IAW5DMHW430`
- Current map: `A00134A0` / `0134A0`
- Alternate software ID: `5DMV0134`
- Read file size: 720,896 bytes
The bike has a noticeable fuelling/on-off throttle issue at low RPM and small throttle openings. It also feels too torque-heavy and abrupt for me at the moment. My goal is not to make more power—I would like to improve the low-speed fuelling and soften the initial torque/throttle delivery so the bike is smoother and more predictable.
I understand that this should be approached carefully, with proper diagnostics and ideally AFR measurement rather than guessing at changes. I am looking for a solution: either someone experienced with this ECU who could help me safely inspect and edit my BIN, or guidance on where to obtain the correct TunerPro XDF for this exact ECU/map combination.
If anyone has experience with the Aprilia Shiver 750 Marelli IAW 5DM, especially `IAW5DMHW430` / `A00134A0`, I would really appreciate your advice.
Thanks for having me here.
