Motronic M3.3 BMW M60 404DME, Descriptors?

Postby Mykk » Wed Mar 08, 2017 3:05 am

1995 BMW 540i, 404 DME software 357689.

I just tore the hex code down and located all of the maps I could identify with what I knew:

Ended up locating 110 different 2D and 3D maps, 15 of which used an Axis identifier I couldn't find any info about. Perhaps someone with far more experience then I could recognize or know how to find them? Here's what I've got:

D0: RPM
CC: TPS
D4: IAT
D5: Load
D7: Water Temp
D8: Voltage

Unknown Axis identifiers:

D2:
D3:
D6:
D9:
CB:
CE:
CF:
27:
1C:
1D:

Thank you for any insight.

How does the coolant axis labels work?

Let's say I've got an Idle RPM table that has a 3x1 Coolant axis. The decimal values in the code are 073 074 085.

Do I treat the axis like:

255-85 = 170
170 x .75-48 = 79
085 = 79.5°C

170-74 = 96
96 x .75-48 = 24
074 = 24°C

96 - 73 = 23
23 x .75-48 = -30.75
073 = -30.75°C

?
