Mercedes Vito W368 ECU Diagnostics

Postby smith » Sun Apr 13, 2014 12:08 pm

Hi,
When wiring in a new radio i blew the radio fuse on my Vito. I finished and replaced the fuse, the radio worked fine but when
i went to start the van it came up woth "Start error"and will not even turn over.

I have had problems with the immo before, and they fail alot on these. So i thought it was just that. I removed the 24C04 chip from the ECU and was sent a code that should have turned the immo off. I wrote it to the chip and re-soldered but the van is still coming up with the same "start error".

I don't know if the code was the wrong one or there is something else causing the problem. The Vito has a OBD socket but it is not meant to be OBD compliant and i'm not sure where the 38 pin diagnostics port is located, i have looked under the drivers seat and passengers seats.

So i'm wondering what would be the best hardware and software to do the diagnostics on the ecu and see what it is saying is wrong??

(It's a bosch ecu, Q01 ED6033 CR1.7 2.2L 4ZYL MQ3+MS3)
Thanks
