Mazda 5 143 bhp with Denso ECU DPF remove HW and SW

Postby lc5829 » Mon Feb 25, 2013 2:17 pm

Hello

as the title says I would like to remove the DPF/FAP from my Mazda 5 143 BHP 2.0D, and my Mazda 6 with the same engine and supposedly the same ECU. I was thinking maybe for the 2 it is wort investing in the necessary equipment and software. I'm familiar with JTAG even though I use them extensively only in mobile phones, but I'm guessing the basic principals should be the same for car ECUs aswell. Please if anyone has a good recommendation for a beginner in ECU remapping, post it here. I found some info stating these Denso ECUs can also be read/written via ODB interface, that's what I'm aiming for if possible or the Ford/Mazda ECU tool. As for the SW to take care of it I'm open to any suggestions. In no way would I edit manually, so any service offering a modification on file I've read out would be the best for this project. Ofcourse I shoot for the cheapest possible solution to get a glimpse of this ECU remapping world, and maybe invest more if I see it's my slice of pie.

Thank you, and every help is greatly appreciated.

Piasini does them over OBD or its another tool? If not would you let me know which tool I need to flash over OBD? I'm ready to invest a reasonable amount of money in this project. If nothing else works, I go with KTAG.

I used K-Tag to do them on a bench.. 2005-2007 is RF7x and 2008+ is RF8x Denso ECU. Very easy to do if you have bdm frame and special adaptor. But KessV2 does full read for this type of Denso via OBDII so better to invest in proper tool to do the job via OBD and make your life easier :)

There is no switch-off solution but emulation works pretty good - you will need IDS / VCM to do the resets. I am not aware of ANY other diagnostic system capable of doing the Mazda resets.

Piassini clone 4.1 do them well..... I read write many Mazda 5,6 with it. Of course there is DPFoff solution on Denso not by switches but worked and tested. And Launch 431 can reset and make everything with Mazda not worse than IDS/VCM - tested many many times
Just for info

I have just bought the Piasini 4.1 to defap a Mazda5 110cv .
No response from obd.

Furnata or anybody: can you post the procedure you used?

Volta does the defap well?
