Learning how to modify ECU's

Postby Phil_dodd » Sat Nov 25, 2017 3:36 pm

I would like to learn how to edit ECU Maps.

I have already done a DPF delete on a Peugeot 307 2.0 HDI EDC15 ECU
Using MPPS & ECU safe.

This was successful.

I tried to do an EGR delete on a Peugeot 206 1.4 HDI EDC16 and also on that 307 2.0 HDI EDC15 but was not successful with the ECU Safe software

I've been reading around and the Winols software seems to be a good software to do this with

I've never done any ECU tuning other than the DPF delete I done on the 307, so I'm not too sure what the best way would be to go about learning to do this.

Would the Winols Software be a good place to start or is there a better software for a beginner?

I am not interested in Remapping for power or economy, just EGR deletes on the 206 1.4 HDI EDC16 ECU.
If that is successful I may do a DPF & EGR delete on my Passat at a later date, will concentrate on the first car for now though.

Thanks in advance.

firstly ecu safe is the shittest software around. winols is your best bet if you want to learn how to do it manually but its very expensive

I've seen the software advertised on ebay for £20, Or is there something else that will cost me the money? I already have MPPS....
