KESS v2 or KTAG

Postby federikg » Thu Apr 10, 2014 12:19 am

Hi, I´m looking for to buy a new interface, and I was seeing that in Argentina, a lot of tuners uses Alientech Interfaces.

I was investigating and I undestood that Kess is only for OBD2 connections and unable to work over the main board directly in the flash memory, is it true ?

Well regarding Alientech tools is so, all the tools are generaly good, but I only hate those switchon/off on the OBD protocol of writting/reading, regarding K-Tag my opinion is that this tool is worth any money, because you can do realy a lot whit this tool. So for a user that is not a trouble for him to open ecu and that has some minor knowledge whit soldering I think this is the right way to go.

Alientech products are very good in term of how easy it is to connect the ECU. For example Ktag has a long list of ecu available for reading, the program has a very complete set of instructions including photos. The only problem is that both KESS and KTAG are expensive (master version), it can go up to 13000 to 15000 USD

 switch on switch off (on some vag 1.9 tdi motors can take some time until you get it)

Hello

KTag is a complement of kess v2.
If kess v2 can't read, ktag do!

Hello

Anyone tested these cheap versions of alientech products http://www.carsets.co.uk/wholesale/alie ... river.html and do anyone know what those tokens are?
