nope, the alternative practise is also to use flasher checksum corrections if there is no checksum in SW.
But the best way is to make good file with checksume corrected.

The problem from the flasher xsums is that they not always make correct checksum if you do mods outside of the data area
for example you want to wfs off the edc15C7 you have to mod before the data area in system block and then the tool make no checksum for that mod's and with the ols plugin it works ....
