Hi everyone, im Dante!
Im 29, and come from Slovenia. I currently own 2 Minis. One is an 06 R53 Cooper S, the other a 07 R55 1.6D (PSA).
I started doing all repairs on these vehicles myself some time ago - first was the R55 that my girlfriend had a small crash in.
The car needed the whole front end redone, but luckily engine and all was still in place - so only cosmetic damage and radiators etc.
After tackling that job, I started working on the R53 - suspension components, some minor work on the engine.
Last year I tackled an engine job on the R55 where I had to replace some faulty tappets. That was quite the job, for someone who is on trained as a mechanic. But I enjoyed learning about the engine. Was a fun experience overall.
Now with some issues regarding software on the R55 (DPF and EGR), I would also like to learn how to edit a engine map for this car.
I did some research already and there is A LOT of information about it on the internet, and one can loose track as to where to begin.
I saw some automated tools, but I would rather understand what the lines/codes in the engine map represent themselves.
So I am hopefull to learn something new again on this forum.
In any case, thanks for having me and I will be sure to post some questions in the future, once I learn the bare basics about how to tackle making a modified engine map.
regards,
Dante
