Help! With Renault CliP

Postby ssashton » Sun Jul 06, 2014 11:35 am

Hi guys I'm new here.

I have a Renault Laguna II (2002, 1.9dci) and I got one of the CliP devices from eBay that lets you edit settings on the ECU and clear errors etc..

My car was working great (finally!) but curiosity got the better of me when looking at the configurations on the CliP device in the UCH menu. I say something which said 'Type of Power Steering' and it was set to 'basic' but also had the option of 'Variable'. So I selected variable.

When I restarted the car it gave errors about the power steering system so I went back in and reset it to 'basic' and deleted the error codes. However they keep coming back! Despite setting the power steering to basic again there seems to be something left in there looking for the variable power steering hardware. I found a few other menu / pages that refer to it.

Can someone help me with how to get this back to normal?!

Dont no about renault clip
But would you have to reset adapt the angle sensor like you would with a vag merc and bmw?

Hmm well I did have a problem with my steering angle sensor before (someone had got it all spun around) and it gave an ESP fault. This is giving a power steering fault and specifically for the steering motor command circuit that I think doesn't exist.

By the way the other error ' Valve signal receiver' I'm pretty sure is for my tyre pressure system and not very importiant.

Yeh but you get that with the vag and you have to do a full lock left full lock right hold straght ect (stearing very heavy) then all of a sudden pumpmotor kicks in and its all working it resets angle sensor ect so the motor nos how to assist was just a though as i dont no about renault clip

Thanks. On your VAG do you need to run a calibration or do you just do the full lock and it sorts itself out?

Hmm no luck there :(

I wonder if I need to do a UCH re-program.

I just needed to disconnect and reconnect the battery. Apparently this 'resyncronises' the UCH.

However I not get a different error that I never had before: DF053 Vehicle Speed Information - Def1: The speed signal supplied by the ABS is missing. It's strange because I didn't have this before now. I took it for a short drive and the error remains. No ABS or ESP light though, this is on the UCH and only visible with CliP. Cruise control works fine so it must be able to read the speed.
